Background:
My client is a world leader in integrated instrument systems for life
sciences research. They have a unique proteomics product line that gives
them a significant advantage over their competitors. They have been in
business for 35 years & are financially stable. The market potential for
this product is so great that they have decided to dedicate additional
talent to the sales effort. This has resulted in an excellent
opportunity for an entrepreneurial minded sales person to grow the
territory with new accounts while having the luxury of inheriting an
existing satisfied customer base.
Duties:
Northwest Territory: Washington, Alaska, British Columbia, Alberta &
Saskatchewan
Responsibilities
Actively cover & sell Biotechnology products
Prospect and generate leads to develop new accounts
Grow existing account base
Implement and employ follow up to the close of the sale
Maintain consistent customer contact for on-going sales of reagents,
consumables, service contracts
Develop territory business plan to maximize the market potential
Conduct product demonstrations, technical seminars & exhibitions
consistent with business plan
Qualifications:
Job Requirements
Creative, highly motivated self-starter with excellent communication
skills (oral & written)
Proficiency in presenting technical seminars & conducting instrument
demonstrations
Good time management skills
Successful high-end capital equipment into biotech/pharma companies – 3
years
A steady sales performance record in capital instrumentation
Good tenure
Excellent working knowledge of territory
Ability to generate new pharma & biotech customers
Desire to be part of a solution science company which offers innovation
and career stability
A passion for sales & ability to grow a territory – entrepreneur sense
Sales of products for applications in protein analysis &/or image
analysis preferred
MS or BS in biology or life sciences with three year’s lab bench
experience preferred
