Background:
Duties:
Conduct the development and validation of a wide variety of
analytical methods to support Novartis’ biopharmaceutical products
development. Utilize multiple HPLC techniques including RP-HPLC,
IEX-HPLC, and SEC-HPLC to determine the purity, impurity profiles,
and degradation pathways of protein products. Employ other
analytical techniques including peptide map, CE, SDS-PAGE, and
UV-Vis spectroscopy to evaluate physicochemical property of
products. Participate in the characterization of products and their
variants using mass spectrometry, amino acid analysis, and
N-terminal sequencing. Fully support commercial product and clinical
product release testing by providing high quality of analytical
methods, assay transfer, and troubleshooting. Generate reports for
in-house and external submissions to regulatory agencies.
Participate in multidisciplinary product development teams.
Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related discipline with
emphasis in Analytical Chemistry with 3+ years of relevant
experience, or BA/BS/MS with sufficient experience to afford Ph.D.
level contribution. The candidate must have previous experience and
technical proficiency with HPLC method. Familiarity with a wide
range of protein analytical techniques including CE, UV-Vis
spectroscopy, SDS-PAGE, light scattering, and mass spectrometry is
essential. Practical experience with common protein chemistry
techniques is also required. The candidate must possess strong
interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills. The ability
to function in a team environment is essential. Thorough
understanding of GMP and quality concepts is desirable. The
candidate is expected to have a good organizational skills and the
ability to work effectively in a multi-project environment.
